I was looking at the results from GistWeb’s new search summaries today, and I noticed that the first paragraph was very often spot on target, and that the rest of the pargraphs, while generally very good, didn’t meet up with the same level of quality as the introductory paragraph.
‘Well,’ I said, ‘I’ll just apply the same algorithm I’m using on the intro pargraph to the rest of the article and see what happens!’
The results were so good that I made the algo change live. I’m seeing much less ad content, and far more targeting results in the latter paragraphs of the articles nows.
Enjoy!

Whats the name of the gistweb robot do you respect robots.txt data? Is it possible to disallow gist? Thanks.

Sweeeet. :O)
This is so good I feel like a kid who stumbled onto sometthing he shouldn’t know about!

I was stunned to see the result yesterday. I agree with Dan Walter that I felt like a kid who has stumbled upon something he should not know about.
This will help me to create news extracts for my websites. If the program (after all the potential modifications and debugging) is offered as a software, I would be happy to shell out $100 to buy it.

Surely Jon you must make this a part of IAW Pro because it goes right to the heart of what that program is all about. I think it is the “missing piece” that will put an end to some of the whinning we’re seeing in the IAW Pro forum.

This is a great new website. But the algo does seem to allow paragraphs to be repeated. I’ve noticed that several times. Would it be possible to have the algo check the output for paragraphs already used?

Jon, I have to agree with Dan in that you really should integrate the GIST engine into the IAW Pro!! Such really would kick any Article Content Robot’s @ss all over the place!
Keep it up and really, you should have some ads on the Gist site…. you’re going to get some serious traffic there!

An excellent resource that I will be sharing with many, well not not too many if you catch my drift!
